This accessibility statement applies to the website www.adpexpert.co.uk. The site is run by ADPexpert (Karol Slusarczyk, sole trader). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, because the people we serve - disabled people in Scotland applying for Adult Disability Payment - are often the people most affected by inaccessible design.
Compliance Status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard expected of services for disabled people in Scotland. This site is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. The non-compliances and the date by which we will address them are listed below.
What You Can Do With This Site
The site is designed to be used in the following ways:
- Zoom in up to 200% without text becoming clipped or overlapping
- Navigate using only a keyboard (skip links, focus indicators, logical tab order)
- Read using a screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) - semantic HTML, ARIA labels, alt text where applicable
- Listen to most content (screen reader compatible)
- View on mobile and tablet at any orientation
- Use the site without animation if you have prefers-reduced-motion enabled in your operating system - we honour the user preference and disable smooth scrolling, modal animations and shimmer effects
Known Issues
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to fix them:
- Partial: Some form inputs use placeholder text instead of a visible label. Placeholders disappear when typing, which can be confusing for users with cognitive disabilities or dyslexia. Fix target: June 2026.
- Partial: Some action buttons are implemented as `<a>` or `<div>` elements with onclick handlers rather than `<button>`. This can affect assistive technology recognition. Fix target: June 2026.
- Partial: The sticky header uses a translucent background with blur. On some content this may reduce text contrast. We have added a `prefers-reduced-transparency` query - browsers that honour it will see a solid background. Reviewing: ongoing.
- Partial: Generated report output (Done For You + Re-determination Pack) does not announce completion to screen readers via an ARIA live region. Users with screen readers may not realise the report has finished generating until they navigate to it manually. Fix target: June 2026.
How We Tested
This site was last tested in May 2026 by the founder using:
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- macOS VoiceOver screen reader (Safari)
- Chrome DevTools Accessibility audit (Lighthouse)
- WAVE WebAIM browser extension
- Mobile testing on iPhone Safari and Android Chrome
A more rigorous third-party audit is planned for late 2026 as the service scales.
